Zen.

Contentment. Something I have never really experienced, until today. Why do we trouble ourselves with constant cognition? We are constantly criticizing and analyzing every stimulus we encounter. We are delved deep into ourselves. We get lost inside. Take a moment. Clear your mind. Think. Of. Nothing. You will be surprised at exactly how difficult this is. Zen.

Early this morning, Rachel (a spectacular being and genuine friend) and I ventured out to the Zen Center of Las Vegas to explore this Buddhist idea of "Zen."There were two, 20 minute intervals of silent meditation  with 10 minutes of walking meditation in the garden intermittently placed between the two. We were instructed to think. of. nothing; if a thought disturbs your mind, purge that thought and maintain clear-mindedness. Focus on your breathing.Inhale. Exhale. Enjoy your beingness. Just exist. Be.

What is zen? As it was explained to us, "Zen is very simple... What are you?" Well, I'm not quite sure. What am I? What are you?
What is " I "? Take a moment and think about who you are................................................................
Introspection. This is mine: Vanessa...?..?...? I am Vanessa. What does that mean? Who is Vanessa? Who am I

You'll find yourself troubled and confused in trying to grasp a clear definition of exactly what you are. Now, do not panic. There is no need to go into some sort of life crisis. Take life for what it is Take you for what you are. If you begin thinking about what you are and you find yourself uncomfortable, stay in that discomfort. Think about what is troubling you, breathe in, breathe out and with your exhaling purge that idea. Get rid of it. Focus. Only. On. Things. That. Are. Positive. Lose all judgements of your self and everyone else.

How  can you live in zen? Humans have been designed to help other humans. This. is. what. we .are. destined. to. do. Help each other and the world by only speaking words of kindness. Choose your words carefully. Have awareness of your actions and how those actions will affect others.

Love.
